Chlorination System
Description:
This water treatment system process uses chlorine
gas or a chlorine solution that is added to water for disinfection and
to control microorganisms. This is a simple one tank system and is
predominantly used in homes with a well as the water source.
Water Problems This System Treats:
This system is most commonly used to treat large
amounts of iron as well treating strong odors.
How It Works:
This system is typically used in conjunction with
an iron unit. The system oxidizes the iron in the water while it is
still in the well. This keeps the water pump and the lines between the
well and the house cleaner, which will alleviate some of the pressure
on the Iron Removal System to remove all of the iron on its own. This
two part system will increase the Iron Unit’s lifespan by
reducing some of the work load.
Required Media:
Chlorine Pellets
Home Installation Location:
The Chlorinator must be installed in the well.
Maintenance:
McLean Engineering will need to visit your home
approximately once each year to review all of the working components of
your system to ensure they are working at their optimal levels.
Additionally, we will conduct a water test each year. Water properties
can change over time, and McLean Engineering wants to ensure that our
customers are informed of their water quality and we wish to provide
the most appropriate water treatment system. Chlorine pellets will need
to be added at regular intervals depending on water usage.
