Acid Correction System
Description:
This system treats acidity in the water. If the pH
of the water is below 7.0 the water is considered acidic. This system
consists of one tank with a time driven control valve.
Water Problems This System Treats:
Acidic water with a pH from 4.0 to 6.5. An Acid
Correction System is recommended for any water source that has a pH at
or below 7.0.
How It Works:
Step 1: Acidic water travels from your water
source, through the water line and enters the pressure tank. The
presence of a vinyl bladder protects the tank from the negative effects
of the acidic water.
Step 2: Once the water leaves the pressure tank,
the water proceeds to the filter tank. There the water will make
contact with the required mineral and the neutralization of the water
will occur.
Step 3: The water’s pH has now been
corrected, and the treated water will then flow into the home.
Required Media:
The media required for this system is Calcium
Carbonate and Magnesium Oxide. It is all natural, not a chemical.
Home Installation Location:
Due to plumbing restrictions and the need for
uninterrupted flow to the pressure tank, the Acid Correction System
must be installed after the pressure tank. Depending on the location of
the pressure tank, we have flexibility with regards to where we install
them. They can be installed in the crawl space, garage, or even a
utility closet.
Maintenance:
McLean Engineering will need to visit your home
annually to replenish the media
and to review all working parts of
the system to ensure that they are all functioning
at their optimal
levels. We will contact you to schedule this call approximately once
each year. Depending on a combination of water quality and water
usage, more
frequent service may be required. Should this be the
case, we will note this in your
file and contact you more
frequently to schedule service. Additionally, we will test
your
water at each service call. Water properties can change over time, and
we
continually test to ensure that we are providing you with the
most appropriate and
comprehensive water treatment system.
